Game of Thrones: The Dark Hedges

Posted by Bill (Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom) on 11 July 2016 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

I have to confess that I have not seen an episode of The Game of Thrones. However, I do know that some of it was filmed in Northern Ireland so I thought I would upload two of the locations used in the series; you can view the second tomorrow.

You can see both locations as well as some others in this clip

Devi from Chennai, India

Wow, yes, that does look spooky . . even in daylight !

@Ronnie 2¢: Not with the number of tourist that are usually there! I had to wait for a quiet moment before I snapped.

Harmonia from Bondues, France

Elaine Hancock from Rockville, United States

A fabulous image of the tree lined road. Those trees are so magnificent! Don't know if I would want to walk down there in the dark. The trees would be quite ominous looking!

@Elaine Hancock: I was glad I was there on a sunny day!

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States

Kind of spooky looking - something about those trees looks a bit sinister. I have not sen Game of Thrones either.

@Ruthiebear: I would avoid them in the dark! Interestingly, I was just watching a news item about the Dark Hedges a few minutes ago on TV. They have become a big tourist attractions and couples are even having wedding photos taken there.

Jean-Luc.M from Nancy, France

Nice capture of a nice place !
