The cruise ship is dwarfed by the fjord walls.

I'm sure the captain knows the depth there but it does look a bit perilous !

@Ronnie 2¢: Hopefully he's not going to risk a multi-million pound cruise ship! Hang on, what about the Titanic??

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Excellent use of the ship to give awe inspiring scale

The ship, though it looks very out of place, really gives a sense f the magnitude of the landscape.

@Ruthiebear: My thoughts exactly.

Shaun from Massachusetts, United States

The captain's of these ships are so skilled. It must not be easy guiding a vessel this size so near the shore. Excellent image. 5*

@Shaun: Passengers had to be taken ashore by tender.

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

Amazing how small a cruise ship becomes when compared with nature!! We always think of cruise ships as floating cities, but this really puts it into perspective! Great capture!

A magnificent image. It is amazing how such a huge ship is dwarfed by those mountains.

@Elaine Hancock: The mountains were impressive.

yoshimipais from France

beautiful light on this exceptional landscape, but I do not manage to make me in the sight of these very (too) big tourist boats
